Resum
In this study plasmatic detection of carcinoembryonary CEA) antigen levels was done in 93 patients with tumours in the digestive apparatus in which colon, pancreas and stomach carcinomas predominated. The results demonstrated high ciphers of positivity in the different types of neoplasia with a significant relation among levels of antigen and level of the dissemination of the process. The authors describe the quantitative determination of this antigen and point out that with the technique employed, concentrations superior to 40 mg/ml are indicative of the existence of metastasis.
