Resum

This chapter presents some of the results of the collaborative international project “Interstice: Encounters between Artists, Children, and Educators,” co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme (KA203) of the European Union. The project aims to promote performative and visual arts in the education system by creating collaborative spaces and facilitating various tools and strategies to support teachers, artists, and children in nurseries, preschools, primary schools, and with young people at universities. The goal is to introduce art thinking in schools and other educational settings. The project also aims to promote opportunities for participation in cultural experiences, reducing inequalities in access, based on three principles: interaction, participation, and democracy in educational contexts. In that sense, art should have an impact throughout the curriculum to involve all children in quality artistic experiences, especially those who, due to their social, cultural, or economic context, do not have many opportunities to access high-quality culture.
