Resum

This first paper in the monograph deals with research in the field of human development through physical education and sport as well as in the field of teaching aimed at values education. These issues are discussed with the aim of highlighting some lines of research work that may help guide professionals working in the field of education. The paper also justifies the need for progress both in analysing educational practices and in specific aspects of the teaching-learning process within the field of Physical Education to guide educational intervention. Finally, the papers included in this monograph are presented.
