Resum

The field of artificial photosynthesis is increasingly awaking interest due to the social concerns on the global warming and the need of finding new alternative clean energy ressources. The use of hydrogen as an energy vector stands among one of the most plausible possibilities to tackle this issue. Generation of hydrogen as a solar fuel from water and sunlight is a strong target nowadays. In this work, the technological and fundamental advances in the field of light-induced photo(electro)catalytic hydrogen generation is presented. The focus is given on the dyadic materials containing a photosensitizer (PS) and a catalytic unit, paying special attention to the bridge between both entities. The dyads containing molecular and nanosized catalysts are also presented.
