Resum

After decades of ban, during the sixties of the xxth century translation of contemporary literature into Catalan starts to return to normal, always under the strict surveillance of the censorship body. In Catalonia some publishing initiatives tried then to carry out a profound renewal of both the Catalan and Spanish literary scene by including the most important voices of the international narrative scene in their catalogues. Amongst these voices were German writers Heinrich Böll and Günter Grass. The present study examines how the Francoist censorship dealt with the initiatives to translate Grass and Böll into Catalan, namely the most popular post-war German authors abroad, and virtually the only ones published in Catalonia and Spain during Franco's era.
