Resum
The aim of this article is to discuss the daily use of public space by women in a working class neighbourhood, located within the Barcelona Metropolitan Area: Ca N'Anglada, in the city of Terrassa. Firstly we analyse the concept of public space from a gender perspective secondly we present the research methodology as well as the historical and social context of the case-study. The third part focuses on the empirical analysis of women's daily life and of the use of public spaces in the neighbourhood. Finally, we draw some conclusions and put forth a number of proposals. The research presented in the article made use of qualitative methods, namely participant and non-participant observation, and in-depth interviews.
