Resum
Structural relaxation of a commercial metallic glass Fe40Ni40B20 (Vitrovac 0040) has been studied. The excess enthalpy, inferred from heat capacity measurements by differential scanning calorimetry, was taken as the property sensitive to the reversible relaxation induced in the glass. The activation energy spectrum characterizing this relaxation process was obtained at 500 K. It results in a bell-shaped distribution with a peak maximum at 1.67 eV when we assume a frequency factor of 1011 Hz. © 1988.
