«Los fascismos europeos y la política educativa del franquismo»

The aim of this article is to explore the influences that the pedagogical theories and the educational policies of the fascist Italy and the nazi Germany had on the educational policy of the first ten years of Franco’s regime. The analysis of the Spanish laws on the matter until 1945, as well as of the specialized journals of the time prove that, contrary to what has been sustained in the literature, the influence of the fascist pedagogy on the teaching of the first years of Franco’s regime was remarkable, without denying the strong catholic character of Franco’s educational system. From the analysis of the situation of education in the fascist Italy, the author shows the underlying coincident policies of Mussolini and Franco. Finally, the author presents points of encounter with the nazi educational policy.
