N2 - Interculturality has become a reality for the immense majority of people, including, of course, family therapists. Starting from this premise, the author describes three situations involving contact with other cultures that have had a decisive influence on the development of his own therapeutic model. He goes on to propose certain characteristics which he believes should form part of the organization and mythology of any therapeutic system that aims to offer an intercultural intervention. This is then complemented by clinical material drawn from a therapy with an immigrant family, which is used to illustrate how the previously mentioned concepts can be applied.
