International presence of studies on Catalan literature in the Arts & Humanities Citation Index

This paper shows various thematic and bibliometric characteristics of studies on Catalan literature, visible internationally through the Arts & Humanities Citation Index. The study was performed primarily by retrieving records from this database, based on a list of major literary authors. The results reveal a low coverage of Catalan literature studies, suggesting poor international visibility for this discipline, as well as a preponderance of articles in Spanish. Furthermore some results from prior studies are confirmed, concerning type of authorship (and degree of co-authorship) and the most analyzed periods and works.
