Resum
The synthesis of several insoluble polymer-bound photosensitizers is described. Besides the already well known polymeric benzophenone (benzoylated polystyrene), 1, some tris(bipyridine) ruthenium(II) complexes bound to an insoluble support have been prepared, mainly the one, 2, in which a polyethoxylated chain is used as spacer. These polymeric photosensitizers have been studied photophysically and photochemically by means of steady-state fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence and transient absorption (Diffuse Reflectance Laser Flash Photolysis). Polymeric benzophenone shows inter- and intramolecular energy transfer and internal hydrogen abstraction.
