Resum

The incidence of RFM in 1273 dairy cows were studied. The results showed that the occurrence of RFM was 14.45%. Significant increase in incidence of RFM was recorded in cows with twin pregnancies, stillbirths and in pregnancies with a gestation length shorter than 270 days. Further, the incidence of RFM was found to escalate with increase in parity. Though maximum temperature and mean relative humidity had no effect on the incidence of RFM, increase in temperature humidity index value of above 72 was directly associated with increase in the incidence of RFM in dairy cows (17.49 vs 13.29%).
