Resum
This article conceptualizes the Spanish Civil War as a space of ideological circulation for the European counterrevolution and, more specifically, for fascism. This framework allows me to identify the existence of a shared perception of the nature of the Spanish conflict by analysing memoirs written by foreign combatants who fought alongside the rebel side. Fascism must be understood as a transnational phenomenon, and Spain -and its fascism- constituted a key scenario for the construction of a fascist Europe.
