N2 - Knowledge Creation and Management Groups are an important resource for professional development, addressing the needs for continuing professional development and regularly improvement of the professional context. In the context of a University Teaching Training Program, addressed to academic and teaching staff of the Universidad of Tarapaca (Chile), has been developed six online Knowledge Creation and Management Groups. Nearly 250 academic and teaching staff participated in the experience. The groups, as a cross-curricular activity, allow knowledge sharing, reflection on practices, and the search for solutions about shared problems related to teaching practices and higher education management. The experience shows that is possible bind online Knowledge Creation and Management Groups and continuous training activities together, and that their use not only contributes to the professional and personal development of academic and teaching staff but also assist the institutional development. Share the products created inside the Knowledge Creation and Management Groups with the academic authorities can assure the consolidation of the practices and support the establishment of strategic guidelines.
