Description of the process of the recuperation of 235 official photographs of propaganda of the Spanish Civil War that were distributed by the Propaganda Ministry of the Second Spanish Republic for their posterior diffusion in the South African press. Conserved in its entirety, the Lapuente photographic collection is a unique case of the Republican propaganda packages sent to the foreign mass media. The author, who participated in the recuperation and the transfer of the collection to Barcelona, analizes the war images and their ideological value in thedefense of the Second Spanish Republic. These photographs, conserved in the Historic Archive of Barcelona, permit a new gaze on the Republican strategies to internationalize the conflict.
