Resum

In 100 chick embryos (Leghorn), a nylon thread of 90 μm diameter was placed in the atrio-ventriculo-conal flange. The main modifications were ventricular septal defects and double outlets of the right ventricle. Atrial septal defects and anomalous drainage of the pulmonary veins were also produced, only these modifications were less frequent. The embryological origin of these malformations after observing the main affected structures is discussed. The infundibular part of the left ventricle and the root of the aorta are studied with special emphasis.
