Resum
This study presents the results of the first petrographic analysis carried out on ceramic vessels from two archaeological sites of Es Pla, the central basin of Mallorca, belonging to the Balearic Bronze Age. The analyzed vessels from the ritual cave Cova del Camp del Bisbe (Sencelles) and the settlement of Es Turassot (Costitx) correspond to the Middle Naviform (1450-1200 cal BCE) and the Late Naviform (1200-1050 cal BCE) periods, respectively. The pottery techniques, defined in terms of the selection and preparation of raw materials and f iring temperatures, allow us to analyse the temporal and territorial scope of the productive changes documented in the Balearic Islands, as well as the social significance of Late Bronze Age pottery in Mallorca, focusing especially on the degree of standardization of production and the circulation of ceramic goods.
