Resum
The analysis of the patron saints of the city of Vic in stages from the present to the past - regressive history - enables us to observe how in each new foundational period of the city the divine symbols that represent it were debated. A new reading of the medieval narrations and of the oral traditions about the martyr saints Lucy and Marcia is the basis of a hypothesis that, from the symbols of fire and twins, relates the Christian saints with Castor and Pollux, possible dedicatees of the Roman Temple of Auso.
