Resum

The complex ac susceptibility of a hard-superconducting cylinder and a non-magnetic normal conducting cylinder is calculated as a function of the cylinder aspect ratio (length/diameter) b/a and the normalized applied field amplitude, for a superconductor with a constant critical-current density, and a dimensionless frequency, for a normal conductor with a constant conductivity. The functional results are listed in tables and plotted in figures for facilitating their applications and displaying their features. The results for both cases are compared with each other and with existing analytical low-b/a and high-b/a limits. © 2005 IOP Publishing Ltd.
