Resum

Our article aims to analyse the role that the Morató family -the well-known dynasty of masters of works and sculptors- had in the architectural development of 18th-century Vic and its area of influence. We see how some of the most significant projects of Vic and Osona architecture have as inventors members of the most outstanding generations of the family: Josep Morató i Soler, Josep Morató i Sellés and Josep Morató i Codina. We also analyse some formal characteristics of an architectural language that, while being situated within the Catalan building aesthetic of the 18th century, in the Morató family takes on notable levels of originality and particularity.
