The chapter is divided into four sections. First of all, we discuss the wide range of emerging contaminants that continuously appear in the literature related to sludge. After that, we present the new developments in analytical methodologies and the future trends for their determination. Then, a review and evaluation of various sludge treatments was presented. And finally, the different results obtained in studies of biodegradation by fungi were summarized.",
