Resum
This paper summarizes the main results and contributions from my Ph.D. dissertation on the concentration of resources and economic development. Its empirical analysis, summarised here, focuses on two major world trends in modern economic development: increasing agglomeration and rising inequalities. The impact of both trends on long-run economic growth is studied, and results are discussed in light of relevant policy debates.
