¿Cómo afrontar las noticias falseadas mediante la alfabetización periodística? Estado de la cuestión

There is currently an essential social debate concerning the proliferation of fake news in the media and on social networks, primarily due to the deterioration that it poses to democratic systems in general and journalism. For this reason, studies on journalism and communication face the challenge of urgently re-conceptualizing a phenomenon that has always existed but has recently resurged in the current media environment. In this context, theory and practice have emerged from the recent sub-field known as news literacy. We briefly examine state of the art from a conceptual point of view. We review the recent and classic theories regarding fake news based on a review of the main bibliography on the subject. In conclusion, we propose a conceptual basis that can bridge the cited theories and the practice of news literacy in the broader framework of media literacy policies.
