© 2016 American Psychological Association This article is written on behalf of the Marvin R. Goldfried SEPI 2014 New Researcher Award. Thus, it entails a reflection on the journey that I have taken in my research while trying to establish some conceptual and methodological bridges between constructivism and social constructionist approaches. First, the importance of bridging for psychotherapy integration is highlighted, as are the basic assumptions of constructivism and social constructionism that make integration possible. Second, different empirical studies that I have conducted are reviewed and their results discussed. Third, the project I am currently working on, which is fully integrative in itself and represents a bridge among my previous research focus, is presented. Finally, some considerations are drawn up regarding three different aspects of bridging: what is important to bridge, how we can bridge, and why we should bridge.
