Resum

The use of mixed methods broadens the methodological horizon of physical activity and sport research. A contemporary issue that requires discussion in sports-related research, and other fields, is the matter of data integration and know-how. A related burning question is raised by Onwuegbuzie et al. (2018). who describe a 1 + 1 = 1 full integration concept, which, in our view, surpasses the previous position of 1 + 1 = 3 (Fetters & Freshwater, 2016). But the notion of full integration needs more work and more examples for researchers to follow. Therefore, this chapter focuses specifically on the study of full integration, based on Bayesian analysis, and on how this integration can take place within the scope of physical activity and sports sciences. The chapter takes into account the beginnings of full Bayesian integration, its growth, the main obstacles to greater expansion, and the developments that herald a positive perspective for the future.
