It is important has been confirmed by numerous randomized prospective clinical trials and several meta-analyses. Thus, irradiation of the breast after conservative surgery is indicated for all cases. Good results in terms of local control of the disease and long-term survival lead to test new treatment schedules and techniques in order to improve quality of life of patients and become more efficient, while maintaining the excellent results in terms of control dissease and cosmesis. Radiation therapy also plays a role after mastectomy and lymph node involvement, even in cases with involvement of 1-3 nodes.
