A proposal and analysis of students questions

Resum

In this paper a method to analyze students' questions based in the distinction between presupposition and request establish by Graesser, Mc Mahen y Johnson, is presented. The presupposition is analyzed in relation with the content and the request focus on the scientific explanation components (Pickett, Kolasa y Jones ,Kolasa y Jones et al, 1994. Using this method lower high school students (12-14 years- old)' questions when studying the water cycle are analyzed. Using this method different comprehension levels regarding the knowledge about the water cycle were characterized as well as various questioning levels, establishing diverse scientific reasoning students' levels. These results also validate our methodological approach.
