N2 - We describe a simple method for isolation of high-molecular-weight DNA from cells fixed in Carnoy's solution for cytogenetic studies. DNA samples were extracted from NIH3T3 cells, and no apparent degradation was noticed. This method should be useful for molecular analysis of cells fixed for cytogenetic studies. © 1992.
