N2 - The little-known Ms. Lat. qu. 102 of the Frankfurt University Library has hitherto been attributed to Petrus Apianus and regarded as a template for his Inscriptiones sacrosanctae vetustatis (Ingolstadt 1534). In reality, both manuscript and print stem independently from the materials amassed by the editors. The analysis of the inscriptions in the manuscript that are absent from the print shows that, in some cases, it represents one of the earliest sources, and it records a few better readings than those accepted in the CIL. The date, authorship and purpose of the manuscript are discussed, and its full content is described in the Appendix.
