Descripció
Transitioning to a low-carbon energy system in accordance with the EU’s energy and climate targets will mean redesigning the energy system primarily around renewable sources. Aiding this process, the EU-funded SENTINEL project will develop an energy system modelling framework that will support the transition. The framework, built with a renewable energy system in mind, will enable various decision makers to address critical design challenges. It will be modular in structure incorporating many separate models that will examine specific technological, geographic, and societal aspects of the transition to a low-carbon energy system. All the models will be linked together, and along with data, will be accessible via an online platform.
